THE ‘Walk a Mile in Her Shoes’ event in Launceston will be attended by film-maker Vanessa Pellegrin and her camera crew, to shoot further scenes for her upcoming documentary ‘The Trouble with the F-Word’. Organised to raise awareness of rape, sexual assault and gender violence against women, men walk the mile in highheeled shoes to see how it feels to walk a mile in women’s shoes. ‘The Trouble With The F Word’, which focuses on the topic of feminism, looks at what it means to be a feminist or antifeminist. Featuring Lucy-Anne Holmes, best known for her role as a ‘No More Page 3’ campaigner and activist, and presenter Nick Lancaster, this documentary will push the boundaries of gender equality. It will see these two bold characters pushed to the limit while campaigning against what they normally believe in, with Nick campaigning for profeminist groups, and Lucy for anti- feminist groups. As part of Nick’s journey he will be attending the ‘Walk a Mile in Her Shoes’ to take part. The documentary will aim to showcase opposing views of pro-feminism and anti-feminism in interesting and dynamic ways. ‘The Trouble with the F-word’ will be released in late 2015. The march takes place on International Women’s Day, Sunday, March 8. Pre-walk activities start at noon at the Storm Nightclub, Pennygillam Industrial Estate and end at Harvey’s Bar and Bistro. Registration for the walk takes place from 2pm before its start at 3pm. The event is being organised by Carol Foy who has appealed for donations of women’s shoes size 10 and above for the walk. Registration for the event is £20 per walker to be paid by February 28. For more information about taking part or if you would like to donate a pair of shoes contact Carol on carolfoy@hotm
